Another mystery metal cover plate

Another mystery part found in the truck - this one was painted the same color as the brake reservoir cover, but is too big for that, and I can’t think of another place needing a cover. Has a screw hole on one side. Any ideas… or just another car part thrown in the truck along the way.

I think it belongs to a bug, steering box access cover. The shape changed a few times over the years.
