The only item I can think of on a T3 which uses that kind of escutcheon is the aux. heater timer knob. Lots of old aircooled VWs used those, as well. _________________ Casey--

I always used curved long-nose pliers for those sort of fittings. _________________ Jim Crowther

I've been able to remove them using half of a wooden clothes pin as a drift (pointed at an angle into one of the slots). That method will even work when they are way too tight. |

A proper fitting special purpose socket/tool is essential to reduce the possibility of accidental damage BTDT! _________________ Schau in das Buch |

I've seen shallow 4 pin or 4 tab tools for Antenna nuts on some older German Antennas, but not a 4 pin for dash work. I only have the old Snap-On 2-pin/blade escutcheon tool, S5908B. I agree with Dave/Mod, the right sized tubing or pipe, worked with a hacksaw or abrasive cut-out saw or even Dremel tool, could become a 4 pin or 4 tab escutcheon tool for very little money.

Yes you said that but refuse to post a photo or further explain.
We are all guessing here.
What does the four pin tool do? Share some information.
Or are you just trolling? If so, this thread will be removed.

I've dealt with that poster previously. At 5K posts unlikely trolling but I have found his communication short, unclear, and "take and no give" expecting the reader to understand his mind and not expressing any gratitude for the help provided....not a pleasant experience. _________________ 83.5 Westy with Subaru 2.5, 4 spd manual, center seat, COLD A/C on 134a!, Winter camp heated with an Espar B4 gasoline furnace

First, uploading photos is simple...... |
Simple/hard (shrug) it is how its done here.
Personally I find it EXTREMELY simple compared to other platforms I'm a part of especially since I was educated how to do it with the link right in the create post window. Also like that the pics stay here instead of some 3rd party that will eventually charge me to keep them.

Are you making a statement?
Are you asking one of us to send one to you?
What are you trying to accomplish about expressing your need? _________________ 83.5 Westy with Subaru 2.5, 4 spd manual, center seat, COLD A/C on 134a!, Winter camp heated with an Espar B4 gasoline furnace

We should probably create a thread devoted to Yelp-style reviews of each member's posting style. _________________ Casey--
