Hi! I recently bought a Vanagon diesel from '91. Today cleaning the cupboards i noticed that at some point in time mice had entered the van and even chewed a wire. Does anyone know that this the wire is for?

The sink pump is working, I was thinking preheat for the LPG or maybe something for the wastetank? It goes down that hole in the floor (or so it seems).

The US version of the vans most of us are familiar with didn't have either of those things as options. Can you find the other end of the wire?

You would think you are save in the Faroes, then the rats swim over from Norway....

100% it's the LPG preheat operated from the combined kitchen cupboard control unit!

You certainly seem to have an abundance of these critters on your side of 'the pond' 😱

The car came from Norway, spending every winther in storage. So I am suspecting that this happened while in storage.

You wonโ€™t get any on the Islands this year , they all drowned due to their gold medals. Itโ€™s cut down on immigration into the States, too

Is there a list or a 'map' of the vans with indication of where the easiest mouse-entries are? If there's a post on this, with details, please point me to it. I had my battery out recently, saw and plugged the generous entry. Mine's a full Westy; where are the other big ones? I saw a reference to A pillars, but didn't see the entry(s) there. So give details, if you've got more spots. Thanks

FWIW take a look at the bottom of the A pillars, lie on the ground and look up....
