Today I stopped into a fast food joint to grab a bite to eat and this odd little pickup truck pulled up right next to me. Let's see who can tell us all WTF is that thang. I'll give you one hint... it's from an auto manufacturer that is still in business today and it was made in 1966.

I did some more digging-- to be precise:
its a subaru Sambar aka Domingo- the Kei truck version-- and it uses a an early boxer style engine. _________________ 71 Squareback-FI -- 73 Bay (subaru powered)

hmm well i need to make a correction-- it has a straight engine, not a boxer. furthermore, some sites claim it is a variant of the 1500 model, but the ones that (to me) appear more legitimate say it is NOT a 1500- which was a separate subaru line. _________________ 71 Squareback-FI -- 73 Bay (subaru powered)

Is it air cooled? Interesting vents in the back. Its proportions kind of remind me of a modern Daihatsu. Saw tons of them in the Philippines a few years back. Ray |

I would say it is air cooled, buy the large vent on the side of the engine compartment. Unless that is where the radiator it.
That is also the model they make the fake split buses out of in Japan. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey
