I am blasting and painting all the tin going onto my engine before assembly.

How do I take this apart? I really don't want to break or damage that round plastic cap looking thing.

Wow, thanks Don!

Does the cap come straight off or does it need to turn? I tried prying lightly with a screw-driver, but I didn't want to break the cap.

I have a 1" pipe easy out that I use to get them apart.
Putting them back together is another thing.

And the tool to remove that was sent today. Should be there Monday I hope.

That sleeve is in there pretty good. Needle-nose pliers aren't moving it.

I am sniping an internal pipe wrench right now.
Seems everyone that has them for sale wants to sell a full set, and they want big bucks.
Sears gets like $23 for a single 1", and then another $9 shipping. My local Sears store does not sell them.

I've seen them in the plumbing section at a local Loews, didn't check the price. Probably available at Ace or Home depot as well.

Looking for Spring weather!

I will give you $5 and pay the shipping.

That is a better return than you get at a bank.

Same type of snap ring pliers that you take the snap ring off the crankshaft.
Duckbills are what some people call them.
