Im looking to swap out my tin top roof for a westy roof. I did a pop top install on a tin top before, but only cut a hole and did not install an upper bunk. This time I want to remove the tin top at the spot welds and install the westy roof. Ive searched the topic and found some info but Im still looking for my detail on how to do the removal. I can see spot welds on my van. I see them from the rear along to the sliding door area. Across the opening of the door I don't see any but then I see them again where the front door pillars are.
Does anyone have an experience/pictures doing the removal. I curious if I take it off all the way to the windshield or cut across the cab area? Id like to get some more info before I commit to the project. There is a cut off westy roof available, but for how long who knows. Any guidance would be great. Thanks GreggK

thats mine. There are about 400 spot welds on the rain gutters, inside the van, above the windshield, on the back and on the inside lips. it takes a while to drill them out.

theres a bunch more pictures here: https://picasaweb.google.com/107272623994188821165/85Westy?authuser=0&feat=directlink

There's also some cutting that needs to be done depending on how you go about it.
