Quite the discovery! I have nothing to do with this, but thought the non-FaceBookers might want to see it too.

Here's an amazing car just recently discovered.....
A L41 Black 1964 Sedan purchased new by the current owner's Uncle at Gilbert and Seibel, Vancouver Washington.
Car was driven home and mysteriously *put away* by the first owner after accruing only 22 miles. |

I know right! And they haven't even uncovered it yet! Glad you appreciate it!
I think they will be taking uncovered/outside pictures soon. _________________ 1976 Westy

OE VW muffler so new the paint isn't even burned off!
Proper big barrel nuts on the heater cables/box levers too.
Another good concours reference is the muffler's clamp orientation, both at the heater boxes and at tailpipes. _________________ -Bruce

Strange to see white paint on the front inner quarter panel under the gas tank area on an L41? If the cars were completely dipped shouldn't it be black as well? _________________ View my 66 build thread here: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=507996 |

I noticed that too, the white is oddly out of place. That's a lot of living in 22mi to get a repaint.

It looks like factory primer to me. I wonder if they simply just didn't lay under it when it was painted. I can't recall if bugs were still manually painted in 64?
Anyone else notice how well the muffler fits? Especially where the fresh air hooked up to the heater box with the wide clamp? Don't we all DREAM that the aftermarket POS mufflers sold today fit anywhere near that close at that junction?? _________________ Contact me at [email protected]
