Pretty clean man, pan looks great. That's a ton of work for three months.
Don't forget to install the missing ductwork on the doghouse outlet.
Anxious to see the shell painted. |

SO we now got fenders, deck lid, and trunk all blasted and coated. Also have all sheet metal that we will need to finish all of the fab needed for this job.
I'm still undecided between GUARDS RED or a killer silver with red interior.
ITS so freaking hard waiting for stuff to get done. |

Great work so far. I vote for Silver with red interior. _________________ September 1964 Standard Sunroof walk through SWR/BG original paint. |

Well thought I would update build. So as of today body and paint is almost done. I think car will be color sanded and buffed possibly by 25th of June. Looking to mate body and pan the same week.
But man its been a long time coming and almost there. Looking forward to running around so.cal to many shows and events to see all of your bad ass rides. The wait is killing me!
Hope I do good and worthy to the VW GODS!

This is going to be a beautiful car when done! It looks smooth as silk!
But my favorite pic of the entire thread is this one.

I don't know why I love to see lowered cars with body panels missing in the middle of a restoration but this is straight up porn to me! _________________ Looking for anything from Hal Casey Motors out of Hamburg New York, from license plate surrounds to matchbooks.

Car is looking great, man.
It's inspiring me since I just dragged my first Bug home and started tearing into it a couple weeks ago |

Hey Thanks alot! Its been a whole lot of hard work and some long hours. This was my way to deal with and try to keep a clear mind as part of my recovery with fighting not one but two cancers at one time. This car saved my life kinda!
I cant wait to get it out. |

As it sits its in the stages of fit, so yes car is not done yet. As far as bumpers go my plan is to keep all exterior body and interior as close to stock as possible with a little twist. It was a ruby car but I wanted more red so I picked VW's big brother color of Porsche "guards red". Thanks for checking it out! |
