1970 Westy poptop body damage, rust lower price !   Price: $2950
This is a project i started a long time ago and got bogged down. It has most camper parts, a title, an engine and gearbox. it is somewhat rusty, but I've see a lot worse. but the main problem is a tree (BIG tree) fell on the driver's side A-pillar and bent the pillar sideways and rearwards and crushed the edge of the windshield opening.
I've done some pulling and pushing but it needs more. It's about 1" out of square and was MUCH more! it also needs the lower windshield metal replaced. i got the cheap panels but they need some stretching and fitting.
I'd started a build thread a long time ago. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=474270 Some nice before pictures but I've done some straightening and a LOT more apart.
the interior is all there except the 4 legged stool. BUT the original vinyl and canvass is all pretty horrible. There is some damage to the pop top fiberglass and a small piece missing.
I think someone put a type 4 engine in once, but I got some metal from another bus and welded the gasket area back. They did add a service hatch for the engine and i'd be tempted to leave it,
I BELIEVE the engine to be good and will do a leakdown test on it. It is a very correct specification 1971 dual port bus engine.
This has been off the road for nearly 20 years and OF COURSE needs tires and all brake hydraulics.
I have a tow bar and have towed VW's all over the US. I might be able to deliver it a little cheaper than a regular hauler.
The last two pictures are when i got it about 10 years ago. It was bondoed up poorly and I have since removed all the pop can repairs and started to weld in new steel patches. So, it looks MUCH WORSE right now! If this does not sell very soon I will be putting more time into the A pillar and windshield opening so then i can at least put a windshield back in.
