1959 Mango Standard Microbus, Fun Patina Driver! Price: $44,000
|
1959 Mango Green and Seagull Grey Original Paint Patina Survivor Bus!
This fun Standard Microbus was born on March 26, 1959 and was originally delivered to San Francisco, California. The Bus has survived quite well over the years as it still wears the majority of its original paint, has all of the correct early seats in their original upholstery, as well as the original Caramel interior panels, too.
Other important features to note include:
*6 Popout Windows with Long Spoon Latches
*Original Roof Rack
*Working Blaupunkt Push Button Radio!
*Front Disc Brakes
*Front Sway Bar
*Firestone Bias Ply Tires
*1956 California Year Of Manufacture License Plates Registered To The Bus
*Much More!
The body and paint are impressive for being an unrestored and now 66 year old survivor Bus. It has the normal wear, knicks, dings, flaws, and old blends you'd expect to see but overall it presents nicely with a natural patina appearance. Details to note include the bullet turn signals, glass taillights, correct slash end bumpers with a respray in Silver White some years ago, and the underside still has most of the factory undercoating intact and still doing its job!
The interior is a highlight, very original, accurate, and has the hard-to-find original early Caramel seats and interior panels in nice shape for their age. The front door panels are early Deluxe but a pair of servicable originals are included in the sale. The cloth headliner was professionally installed some years ago and still looks great as it matches nicely.
Mechanically the Bus is fully turnkey and you can see a few action videos at the link at the bottom of this ad text along with approximately 50 detailed pics. The engine is a good running stock 1600 single port, it has a stock reduction box transaxle, front disc brake upgrade for better stopping power, a front sway bar was added for better handling, and the electrical was converted to 12 volts for quicker starts and brighter lights, too. The tires are Firestone 6.40-15 bias plies which really bring out the vintage feel this Bus exudes.
Overall this 1959 really speaks for itself, solid, presentable, accurate where it matters, and with a few sensible mechanical upgrades for a tad more power, better braking, better handling, and increased enjoyment from the way it left the factory 66 years ago. Thanks!
$44,000
Please note this Bus is located in Laguna Niguel, California.
