I was hoping to get images of what 12v components were actually installed in factory-issued 12v buses. Not just a part number, but an image of what was actually installed and not a later addition. There's gotta be a few untouched splitties out there!
I had a longer post explaining why and asking some questions, but cut to the chase: I'd like some images of original parts, please. Ideally with any markings/parts numbers visible, and terminal numbers if present.
I found a few in the gallery:
12v starter
12v headlight relay 311 941 183B, M620 from chassis 216 000 001 to 190 000
12v 65-only wiper motor
12v 65 wiper switch
I may be abysmal at searching and have missed a few, but there weren't many. I am very interested in photos of the emergency flasher and it's part and terminal numbers, especially any pics of 211 953 207.
I'd imagine the flasher switches with 4 lugs were unchanged. I also assume headlight switch, same, except for part number. _________________ Craig K

I have a factory 12v 27/5 1963 SC with all its original 12V electrical parts. What are you needing pics of? _________________ 58 Coral Red ragtop(Diana's car)

courtesy of pedro_sainz, here are pics of the hazard flasher relay:
Silver one is 6v; everything is identical on the 12v version save voltage and part number. _________________ Craig K

What are the physical dimensions of the original 12V battery that the 12V cover fits?

Good question! There's this, from EverettB

However, I note the image you're referencing has a part # of 211 915 205, and the 3/64 supplement of 620/621 parts lists 113 915 405 for this part. I assume that's a bug part (despite some bug folks having emphatically claimed there were never 12v batts in pre-67 beetles there certainly were; M610 et al) and that if I dig we'll find a superseding list showing a change to 211 number.
Or perhaps it is truly different, needing a new part #? _________________ Craig K

I just reposted the image above.
Based on the dimensions above, it seems that Group 26 is the modern equivalent size and terminal layout. _________________ Andy

"I just reposted the image above. "
I understand; the 211 part is in the current Wolfsburg West catalog "12 volt battery cover for beetle or bus through 1967. Intended to fit battery with outer diameter measures 244mm x 173mm. 9 5/16"" x 6 13/16"". 211915405 ".
tasb, feel like finding your cover and looking for a part number? :) _________________ Craig K

I believe it to be the same size as a normal 12v battery cover but I will have to check in to that. I can take a couple measurements of it tonight. _________________ 58 Coral Red ragtop(Diana's car)

Your battery should have a sticker stating the size - Mt-26, Mt-42. etc.
Whoever did the cutting of the hole for 'modern' batteris (terminals on same side of battery top) did a good job. _________________ Craig K
