Serial Number 236, been sitting for almost 50 years. Got it when I bought my son’s bug. How crazy different from my sons 66 build will it be?
Sons bug we built. (Had built )

That’s correct on the vin and title. All zeros and 236 |

Sweet !
looks like kind of possible patina build.
it seems your rear subframe and torsion bars and spring plates are still there.
if you can't find a proper Type 3 transaxle you could also use a 1967 up (wide track) beetle unit. The final drive ratio is a bit higher, but it could provide a quick fix for the time being. _________________ Hotrods, Fords, Veedubs and Triumph Twins !

crazy early!
It will be very different than a bug and very difficult to do correctly. If done correctly that's going to be worth a lot, I think we only know a couple cars older than that. Do not throw anything away! |

That is how the car was found. My son’s 66 bug when we bought it was right next to it. That was six years ago. I am going to pull it out on Saturday and I will post up some more pictures. Those pictures the owner sent to me yesterday though, so those are current.

Agreed, this should be good. Especially seeing the differences from an early, early car to a later early car or even a late car. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
