Hi together

I would like to present you my project. My 1957 bus
In German, "Ring frei" means in boxing that the fight can begin.
Let's see if I can beat the rust

Mother nature has created a piece of art

What a cool bus and logo's! Full of character and PGSG nonetheless!
Good luck with such a big project, I'll be watching this space Popcorn

Thank you,
Fortunately, there are many repair parts available as reproductions. Previously you could have thrown away or it would have been very very expensive

The challenge with this Bus is to restore the structure and save as much of the original Patina as possible.

Frankly I’m shocked to see this bus getting rebuilt as it was SO rusty, but more power to you!! My friend and I pulled this bus out of a swamp here in Washington State

Here are the origjnal matching wheels from the bus that I still have, maybe they should be reunited?

Very cool your message.
It was in the sump? That is the reason for the rust in places I would not have thought to rust. No screw goes out without force. With the wheels will be difficult. The bus is in Europe / Belgium. Do you have photos of where it was found and pulled out? Or more info?

Today on the rear frame removed the underbody protection and prepared for sandblasting.
The rear piece is still very good. Very Happy
The front half is very bad and will be redone. Sad

wow. I'm watching. I have a bus in about the same condition as this that I plan on tackling at some point. You have to really love these things to dive into a project like this!

A lot of sheet metal has to be put into my "Frankenstein".

Last week I was in the store of BBT. I ordered half the catalog. It will be exciting how well it all fits together.

Stupid was that I sold a lot of my spare parts because I thought I don't have a bus anymore. Since the bus is actually empty I have to get a lot again.
But it will take a long time until I can add something again.
To be continued

I am busy with my giant puzzle.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

First make all the plates fit together and put them together with screws.
The next step is to weld the first sheets together again.
