Hello All. Here's the video that my buddy and his wife shot for us along our caravan route to Watkins Glen.
Unfortunately - The first video recording along the roadside was a bit out of focus, which is really too bad because it was an excellent camera position.
The second part is where his wife was up on an overhead bridge, just a little further down the road. I didn't even know she was doing that until I phoned him right before we arrived in his town!
Anyway, here they are. Enjoy!

LOL - Thanx John!
Actually..... I too am into piloting quadcopters and recording videos. My buddy has more video recording experience than I do, so I asked him to do this one for us. He did a great job!
Hopefully I'll progress as good as he did and I'll be able to record this sky view video at our future Invasions! _________________ 1972 SquareBack.....recycled back to life......

Awesome!!!
That is so cool Dave. Please thank your RC buddy for doing that. Way way cool!
I think we need to try to include that in all future Invasions. There you go...raising the bar again for future hosts. LOL _________________ Later,

Thanx for the feedback and the praise, eyetzr! As far as the ice cream notice – that was just an impromptu suggestion from one to another in the parking lot, and then another, and then another, and then most everyone wanted ice cream! I think it was a big hit – maybe we should include an ice cream run into all future Invasions _________________ 1972 SquareBack.....recycled back to life......

as this was my first Invasion, let me start by saying our hosts did a great job, location, hotel, activities. So: 1) everything was perfect. 2) See #1. 3) Info was spot on. 4) website worked well, and updated frequently. 5) I do not need more email & I checked the site regularly. 6) Maybe add a notice board in the hotel lobby as to inform what time the ice cream run is. 7) we forgot to get everyone in the group shot, maybe do the group shot 1st day (nit picking now) on site dinner was a great idea. 9) tech sessions were good, the issue would be getting the bits together to do more involved items. That is all I got, now back to my car. Cheers |

The 2014 Invasion was a huge success! I think all of the Invaders that made it had a great time. It was great seeing old friends and making new ones. Our local hosts, Dave and Gail Pallo, did an outstanding job with all the arrangements. They have really raised the bar for future hosts. Thanks again Dave and Gail for everything. Also, thanks to all of you for helping raise approx. $600 for the Rochester Ronald McDonald House. Great job!
As we start to make plans for the 2016 Invasion (location TBD), I would love to hear some feedback from those that made it to the Invasion and from those that planned to but couldn't for various reasons.
What did we do well?
What could we have done better?
What information would have been helpful before the Invasion?
Is the website helpful?
Would more email communications be better?
What information would have been helpful during the Invasion?
What did we forget?
What did you think of the cater dinner idea?
What would you like to see in future Tech Sessions?
Any and all feedback is welcome. We will use it to make future Invasions better. Thanks in advance for the feedback and thanks again for making the 2014 Invasion a huge success. We look forward to 2016! |
Out of that entire list, I'd like to see another carbon fiber tech session. That was so informative, being able to watch and participate during the first one. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

He had a BBQ party going on AT HIS HOME that very same day, so the fact that he came out to us AT ALL was a surprise to us! _________________ 1972 SquareBack.....recycled back to life......

By the way, does anyone know who owns the Sea Blue T-34 that was at the show? Just curious if they were a member here or not. |
Those are some great pix - Thanx eyetzr!
Yes, that sweet ride belongs to Mike Shay. He lives here in Rochester, and it was only last year that I met him and his wife. I don't believe he spends much time online, as I had to email him to remind him the Invasion was in his back yard!
His ride is just as sweet in person as the pictures show! _________________ 1972 SquareBack.....recycled back to life......
