Blown head gasket. That's water from the radiator getting into the oil.

No, really it's just condensation. Happens when driving the car not long enough to get warmed up.

Hi Sambas,

I went to change the oil in my beetle today. (It's fuel injected if that makes a difference.)

Everything went as normal until I took off the oil fill cap. The inside of the cap and the top of the fill tube were coated in a weird light brown/beige creamy substance that looked like pudding or yogurt.

I wiped out as much as I could get using paper towels and then finished the oil change as normal. The car runs fine.

What is this stuff? Does it indicate a problem? If this was a water cooled engine, I'd be worried about oil and coolant mixing but there's no coolant here to mix.

I'm worried. Help appreciated.

Thanks, Sambas.
