Rebuilt/restored German Pierburg type 3 fuel pump Price: 175.00
This is a Type 3 German Pierburg VW6 stamped fuel pump. The type 3 fuel pumps use a slightly thicker main diaphragm spring for a 4 PSI fuel pressure vs. the 3 PSI on type 1 and 2 fuel pumps.
These fuel pumps are fully rebuilt/restored with new Effbe diaphragms.
All the steel hard parts were inspected for wear after cleaning. They were then stripped of their old zinc plating. The parts were re bright zinc plated. All the mating surfaces were machine leveled on a milling machine. The brass inlet and outlet tubes are removed and then pressed back in with a retaining compound so they won't come out again.
The rocker pins on these original Pierburg fuel pumps are secured w/"C" clips so they don't back out like many of the new, inferior fuel pumps sold today.
A big issue with many of the new fuel pumps sold today is the wild variance in fuel pressure they put out. Everyone who bolts a fuel pump on their engine should check the fuel pressure. Many new fuel pumps put out 6 psi or more. This creates all sorts of issues with the carb/carbs.
These original German Pierburg fuel pumps are miles ahead in quality of any new fuel pump sold today. They can last for decades as well with these OEM Effbe diaphragms. Our VW engines just look correct with these correct fuel pumps mounted.
