Rebuilt Brazilian Pierburg square top fuel pumps Price: 110
These Brazilian Pierburg Square top fuel pumps are fully rebuilt/restored. All the fuel pumps steel hard parts are inspected for wear. Any worn part is replaced. They are then stripped of their old zinc plating. These parts are then re bright zinc plated. All the mating/sealing surfaces are machine leveled for a perfectly level sealing surface. The valves are removed and then resealed. The fuel pumps castings are media blasted with a special media to remove oxidation and stains and makes the finish look new. New OEM Effbe diaphragms rated for ethanol are installed on the original Pierburg assemblies. The lower main diaphragm assembly's are pre-loaded to spec during assembly using the original VW tool. These pumps post restoration are basically new and will last for decades if used regularly.

These Pierburg square top fuel pumps are used to replace the non-rebuildable fuel pumps on 1972-1975 VW's. They are the best fuel pumps for our VW's. They put out the correct 3 PSI fuel pressure. They have internal fuel screens. There is a fuel shut off diaphragm built in. The rocker pins are pressed back in with a Loctite retaining compound so the pins won't back out. I've sold many square top fuel pumps to folks running alternators. So, they fit. You may have to lift the carb up slightly so the front carb mounting stud is out of the way if that stud is too long. Everyone states it only takes a couple of minutes to mount these square tops with their alternator equipped engines.
A big issue with many of the new fuel pumps sold today is the wild variance in fuel pressure they put out depending on brand. Everyone who bolts a fuel pump on their engine should check the fuel pressure. Many new fuel pumps put out 6 psi or more. This creates all sorts of issues with the carb/carbs.
These Pierburg pumps are miles ahead in quality of any new Chinese fuel pump pump sold today. They can last for decades. They also make our VW engines look factory correct. See the restored engine photo.
