It was really fun and interesting reading the development of this story, even knowing the final outcome.

Kind of funny reading people talking about how T3s aren't even worth as much as bugs. I'm not sure that was ever true. At least I know it wasn't in Phoenix 25 years ago.

Sadly, it does seem Gerson decided to not pursue additional T3 parts. I've got some I could sure use on my current "project". I completely get the whole diminishing returns thing though. I'm just glad there are still some floor pan options out there, even though I don't personally need any for my car. One of the POs already did them.

I guess Gerson decided not to do the heater channels?

Us to be a guy on the east coast I think North Carolina, called Monkey nut http://monkeynutvw.3dcartstores.com/ that use to sell them, but I don't see them on the web site. I use to see them at swap meets. I bought my straight from Gerson a few years ago. https://klassicfab.com/klassicfab1/en/95-floor-pans. Gerson has a list of distributors at https://www.klassicfab.com/distributors/

Half sets are either the driver or passenger side from the front to back. A quarter is half of the half pan either driver or passenger side and front or back. Gerson sells half sides from front to back.

So, what you are looking for is either the passenger or driver side half from Gerson.

Hi. New here and to VW restoration. I have a decent 68 sq back that needs floor pans badly! I don't know what 1/2 sets are, but I need them from the firewall to the engine compartment. Can anyone explain what a 1/2 set is and can anyone tell me where to find some? Or, have I missed the point completely, and there are none. Thanks.

Do you have any pics when you installed the pans please mate? Did you spot weld them like Beetle pans?

They look like stitch welds, that were connected to form a solid weld. This is how I replace floors on a type 3. Very Happy

As much as I would like to take credit for the welding work, I cannot.

The type 3 pan is much different than beetle pan. It is very involved and for that reason, I contracted only the welding work out to ISP. The welds are not spot welds though.

Your pans came out really nice! Can't wait to slap my set of Gersons on my square and I hope the Gman stamps out some additional pieces next year as I could use the bottom portion of the tunnel and panel that supports the rear seat. Best of luck with your build Soul Built
